| Q. |
How does a Home Tour work? |
| A. |
Specific homes in the community are open for view. To participate, you must buy a ticket which lists each home and includes a map. You are free to visit any or all of the homes in whichever order you wish during tour hours. When you arrive at a home, your ticket will be checked off and docents will direct you through the home in a predetermined route.
Patrons are asked to go only where they are directed and to refrain from touching anything in the home. They are not to eat or drink while in the home. Taking photos is not allowed. Strollers and umbrellas are also not allowed in the homes.
Some homeowners request that you wear booties over your shoes. These will be provided as you enter and collected as you exit the home. |
| Q. |
Which homes are featured on the Tour? |
| A. |
Except for some limited information used in publicity, specific information about featured homes is not released before the time of the tour for privacy and security reasons. |
| Q. |
If I buy an Advanced Sale Ticket, do I still have to stop at Mother of Mercy High School? |
| A. |
Yes. The Advanced Sale Ticket is a voucher that is exchanged for the actual ticket on the day of the tour. There will be a special line for a speedy exchange.
Stopping at the school allows you to find out about any last minute updates, information about shuttles, and other information about the tour. |
| Q. |
On the day of the tour, what time will the "headquarters" at Mother of Mercy be open? |
| A. |
Tickets will be available starting at 12:30 pm (Note: no homes will be open until 1:00 pm). The headquarters will be open until the end of the tour (6:00 pm). |
| Q. |
How do I get to the houses? |
| A. |
You are on your own to get from house to house. People typically walk or drive or take advantage of the shuttle service provided.
If you drive, park only in legal street parking areas. There is no parking in the driveways of featured homes.
Note that the shuttles continuously circulate along a route, picking up passengers at predetermined stops (shown on the ticket). There is no schedule so some waiting is necessary. Time between shuttles varies based on number of people getting on and off, and traffic. |
| Q. |
Where can I park? |
| A. |
Parking is available at the High School. A small lot is available off of Epworth for short term parking for ticket pick up. Those who wish to leave their car to walk or take the shuttle are asked to find street parking or park in the school lot off of Ramona Avenue. |
| Q. |
Are children allowed on the tour? |
| A. |
Well behaved children are welcome on the tour. They must be supervised at all times and follow the rules (no eating or drinking in the house, no touching, no going in areas not part of the route, etc.).
Children under the age of 16 do not pay but must have a Child's Ticket which can be obtained at the High School. |
